Where are the tech experts? Do you know how stupid this was to buy?
http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-49LF5400-led-tv
I got this a year or something ago and the specs looked fine I just didn't want some hanmspree or isprens or whatever else so I just grabbed it for 400, what the hell. Then later I find out I could get Samsung television sets with some other name on them for some lower price OOPS Meanwhile now it's not a smart one.. that is what everyone is telling me .... what the hell does that mean? It should have been it was one of the most pricey 49" mainstream sets and this wasn't a decade ago. That makes me mad I want to mirror my telephone display onto the television is all I want to do. I use to do that on this one set through a roku stick thing I think Do you all know how I can do that to this? The telephone is a Samsung of course |

I'm thinking a $30 chromecast will solve all your problems.

Hi Mr.Max,
First don't feel bad. TV's, like computers, drop really quickly in price as newer, faster models come out every day. To answer your question: A Smart TV is basically a small computer with a big screen. It has an operating system and runs apps just like your smartphone, and connects to the Internet via Ethernet or Wifi. If your TV isn't smart, you can make it smart. Chromecast is excellent as Shake suggested. You can also use an Apple TV, but they are more expensive. If you're handy and like to tinker, you can use a Raspberry Pi 3.

If you have an Ethernet connection near your set you can pay a little more and get a Chromecast ultra. Will be more reliable and supposed to stream 4k better if you'll ever need that option.
