Cowboy photographed in 1910 - The beauty lost forever!

I'm just old enough to remember "Small Pockets" were people still depended on the horse for the livelihood. Say what you wish but we've gone from beauty to see.. to... buttons to push.

There will be a day when anyone wanting to see trees will have to go to a museum.

Ya, nice picture. But the cowboy doesn't exactly have many tress to look at there either.

Anyways, there are more trees in North America now than there were 100 years ago.

Why would you have to go to a museum to see a tree? They are everywhere. Even in the cities we have trees.

well that's just it. There is both beauty and horror in every generation. cherry picking from any particular one is a little ridiculous. however some cleaner air and water back then no doubt. May smell more like manure in that shot though..

In my day we allowed Darwin to do his job.

Today we give the inferior health cards and hook them up to machines in order to keep them around a little longer.

Fact: You weren't even a twinkle in your father's eye when I was getting my driver's license.

From apx 1940 to present day I can tell you what the food tasted like.. what the women talked like.. what the music sounded like... what the taxes were like... etc.. etc.. etc..

I have been alive that entire time so I have first hand testimony as to how the world has changed. Therefore not only am I perfectly suitable to pass judgement on this era but I also have the right.
  • You don't know what it was like to watch a movie on a really giant silver screen while sitting in very comfortable velour seats and having a cigarette girl sell you a shot of brandy...
  • Or to hear Frank Sinatra sing in person....
  • Or ride the rails of the T.H & B railway where the worst that could happen to you was you would be kicked off the train.
  • Or to be able to get a damn good paying job or even a trade by just talking to the manager for 10 mins.
  • Or to be able to make money selling the clippings of your sister's pubic hair.
  • Or make a truckload of money selling a 3 minute loop of a blow job.
  • Or just how much unbelievable amount of freedom we had.

You don't know jack shit about what the past was like because you weren't there. All you have is a handful of Internet memes, corporate driven propaganda and an over priced cheap Iphone made in a Chinese sweat shop.

I am old but I sure as hell don't miss *the good old days* they weren't really that good.

Del Monte Peaches were 29 cents per can 1960
Del Monte 100% Juice Sliced Peaches, 15.0 OZ $1.23 today (Walmart)

Inflation adjusted, the 1960 29 cents is $2.43 today

Porn is like that can of peaches -- commoditized by the freemium as opposed to commoditized by lower cost store and generic brands of canned peaches.

We (or at least I do) live better today.

I came of age in the 50s and it was an incredible time to be alive if you wanted to live it.

There were opportunities galore because government was pro-money and regulation was viewed as being communist.

Rock and Roll was just hitting the streets and in every neighbourhood there was someone with a garage band. The area where I grew up I could take in a show every Friday night and on Saturday nights I would bike over a few blocks and see another. Plus everyone danced.

The women weren't afraid to be women and they did things like dressed up to go to a movie, put on perfume and afterwards they would make you something to eat that wasn't prepackaged shit that needed a microwave.

Plus most women weren't afraid to do be sexual with the guy they liked. Good girls gave you a hand job - bad girls sucked you off - really bad girls went all the way. But there was a rule and that being if you knocked up a girl up you had to marry her.

A man could be a man.
This is what I miss the most! If I had a problem with some guy I could walk right up to him and settle the problem face-to-face. Almost no one tried to hide behind lawyers (or today the Internet) in those days and everyone that trash talked about someone could result in violence so only old women or the stupid did it. Just the same if you did have to kick someone's ass no one called the cops as long as you didn't kill the guy.

Both have changed a lot.

For the most part food in my day wasn't shipped around the world. It pretty much was grown within an hour or two of where you lived. As for the meat the animals weren't forced to live in 6ft deep of their own shit. Plus everyone knew someone that hunted and you could fish right out of the Saint Laurent.

Now women have changed a hell of a lot!
Now I'm not just talking bush versus hairless. What I'm talking about is how they worked and lived but also the way they did things like put a little dab of Roses and Lace talc on their pussies

I was a pervert from the get go. LOL

My sister used to trim her bush back with a pair of scissors. But in those days most people were careful about leaving behind a mess in the bathroom so she used to do it in her bedroom sitting on a newspaper. When she was done she would fold it up with the pubic hair in it and dispose of it in the garbage.

Now I would dig out that newspaper and sell those pubes. I used to get a whole 10 dollars for a picture of my sister and a little paper bag of her pubic hair. Every few weeks my sister was good for about $20 and once in a while I could also make some extra chump selling my mom's pubes.

I used to sneak out at night and go sell them right out in the open on St. Laurent blvd in front of the cabarets.

That's entrepreneurship ...
