They shoot the torso because that's the biggest solid area for a successful hit, the least chance to miss. When someone points a gun at you or is running towards you with a knife, trying to shoot a leg or arm with a bigger chance of missing is too risky.

Police are trained to shoot to stop. This means they aim for the chest. Shooting a moving target is hard, to begin with, shooting a leg or arm is incredibly difficult and the bullet can fly anywhere. Not to mention, shooting a leg or arm may not stop them. If they have a weapon and you shoot them in the leg, they can still use that weapon to hurt someone. If you hit them in the chest they are going down.

To Sid70, you see it? The cops shoot Americans, because they act like a herd which thinks the another sheep that was taken to a slaughterhouse has deserved it.

All Russian cops have guns. They usually have no tasers (never seen them actually), but they always have a gun and handcuffs. And the number is really zero. Course they often kill someone in firefights, but that's a normal thing IMHO.

Here is a video of "police brutality" in Belorussia (not Russia actually, but almost the same). Thy guy under drugs with a knife tried to stub police officers. And he got shot... into his leg. He was not killed, he was simply stopped and beaten till he dropped his knife. They have tried everything to stop him but not to kill. And you know... the people here say it was very brutal...

That guy was likely having mental issues and the outcome is too bad, but if you go at the police with a weapon you are going to get shot in the chest. Spend a little time and do some research and you will see why they are trained to shoot center mass and not to try to shoot people in the limbs.

The Americans are joking on Russians that we film everything on camera. Everybody has a mobile phone with a camera and even cars here are often equipped with dashcams. When a meteorite has hit a distant Siberian city, it was filmed from 10's different points. Also here in Russia we have a Law which says that everybody has a right to film police on duty (you can't film a private person if he doesn't want it, but only if he's not on duty). And you say it could happen that such a thing as a policemen shooting someone dead couldn't be filmed by at least someone on camera? I have serious doubts on that, man...

its a visa free travel for 90 days in 180 days period, but it doesnt allow work. When someone will get catched doing work, they will gte banned, and they employers fined, so..I doubt that someone is really taking a chance.

You can come and find work in Poland, apply and get approved. An employer can hire you officially and do the paperwork, no need to cheat. I can't tell about other EU countries but in Poland you can do so legally.

I know that almost 2 milions Ukrainians in Poland now these days, the rent got more expensive like 35-40 % more in last 2-3 years because of that ;-)
for the rest of EU is 90 days of TRAVEL not work.
Maybe its the same like Poland with Czechia, Slovakia and Bulgaria for Ukrainians, dont know about that. But what I know that in some cities in Poland every man out of 10 is Ukrainian now ;-)

The only people that win in such situation are those that were already rich, ie: have flats for rent, have some business to employ cheap labour. If you dont have that you are competing with Ukrainians in rent market (in Poland there was always shortage of flats to rent, now is even worse) and - even worse, if you dont have qualifications - in jobs market (cheaper labour for the most dullin tasks).
basically the same like in UK with Poles, Romanians and so on
thats why Im in Ukraine now, enjoing 1 usd to 26 uah shitty weather though, dont have time this year to go to somewhere on the black coast like Nikolayev or whatever...too far, i would have to go by romania as roads in ukr in that parts are only good for horses...

It's too simple to put it that way. No paradise in Poland, it's better due to Poland being a EU country, but I agree that low income jobs seekers get paid better than in Ukraine. Many share flats and send money back to Ukraine.

But speaking of IT it's not that easy to compare, with the Polish tax rate IT jobs for mid level and seniors pays less. Many come back or seek jobs in Germany. For many staying in Poland a European way of having things around might not look that nice, they lose their feelings of importance and becoming an average European at times make them miserable. But those who can accept the change it opens new ways in the future.

I spent more than 5 years in EU, with the prices that low in UA I could have bought another apartment in Kiev if I had stayed. I spent a month in Kiev this August, it was cheap, right, but it fades away fairly quick and harsh reality slams in. Basically, if we talk about low profile life it's cheaper in Ukraine but living a EU style costs more than in EU.

actually im in Lviv now...probably will stay here for 2 months...got plans to go to Chernivtse, but its like 300 km from here hm...is it worth it ? you are the second person that recommend it...I actually consider living in Lviv, Chernivtsi or Truskavets

as for Ukrainians in Poland...yeah I know...better to earn 500 euros in Poland than 3000-5000 UAH in Ukraine, right ? IT guys are different thing... there is also a bunch of tech ex soviet guys from cities like Dnipro or whatever that are technicians of some sort, like welders etc.
I rarely stay in Poland in recent years for various reasons...too expensive for what it offers and the mentality of the most people suck, I dont understand them that much anymore

I was born in a Soviet era. I come from a poor family of a factory worker and a school teacher. We were doing miserable, probably better then villagers but still I do not belong to the Soviet elite ( commies ) or those box workers ( rockets, weapon ) who lived in closed towns but were given a bit better treatment.

So saying I don't like Soviet is nothing. I do fucking hate it. That's actually why i never go to Croatia, I can sense those Soviets from far away, I always drive to Italy.

Odessa itself was OK before 2010. It began to get dirty, authorities dont do anything to keep up the city style that actually has many good looking old style buildings. And recently it became a slut town to visit. It's like Bratislava but on the sea

I was in Lviv back in 2014 last time, they made up the central part but did nothing to the rest of the town. I'd choose the area on the hill to stay, near the big park in Lviv, sorry, dont recall the name.

Chernivtsy is a small but nice town, it would remind you of a smaller Lviv, the central part is Ok.

I actually spent some good time in Truskavets back in the day, i had to go a local Telecom center to oder a dial up u/p to work remotely from a hotel. It's similar to Krakow weather wise, rainy and humid.

Uzhorod and Mukachevo - those are sort of transit towns, been there but never stayed.

Right, that area offers so many people with a tech background, I heard welders go to Canada though.

Been around several major cities in Poland, I cant find anything that suits me better than Krakow. The Eastern part - fuck it, no go. The North is cold, rainy and far away from Italy + ruuskies everywhere in Gdansk. West... I have given many visits to Wroclaw - fuck no, not my place. Warsaw - harsh people, lots of UKR/RUS - fuck it.

Overall I like it in Poland. There are things I don't like, but after 5,5 years I call it home. Slovakia and CZ do not come any close IMO.
