why the repeal of DACA may be a good thing...

You have all these young people who were brought here by their parents either fleeing a poor or oppressive country.
Those young people were born in those poor and oppressive countries.
That will make them eligible for politics when they move back to their country of birth.
Just imagine 800,000 american-educated freedom-loving salvos being sent to those poor and oppressive countries.
That would be enough to change those poor and oppressive countries to be more democratic like the USA.

What do you think? Is that the only silver lining to the repeal of DACA?

It could also create 800,000 young, educated people who return to their country of origin with a hatred for the US in their hearts.

Nothing warms the heart to spreading democracy like a mass deportation from a country that is one political party away from a dictatorship...they will for sure spread your beliefs...if you eat all the LSD...

Maybe they will hate us so much that they teach us a lesson and turn their country into a country as good as ours. ;)

I couldn't imagine growing up American and being told one day you're not one of us because you didn't drop out of your mother's pussy onto American dirt. Then being told you're safe and valued via DACA then a racist POTUS takes office and says you're not safe or wanted. Makes America look like a pile of shit with no moral values. Putin loves this.

It's like a baby that's the product of rape. You love & accept the baby through no fault of it's parent that committed the crime. Very simple.

I suppose anything is possible.

The reality is that most of these people will have little impact on their home countries and will likely be doing whatever they can to come back here only this time they will be here under the radar so they won't be paying any taxes and will just use more resources as we try to hunt them down and deport them again.

Trump is right to terminate DACA.
DACA is administrative amnesty for illegal aliens.
President Barack Obama lacked the constitutional and legal authority to implement DACA. Even Obama admitted it – repeatedly.

wouldn't those 800k young, educated people be a great addition to the US' workforce?

The US already invested x amount of years into each of their educations.... sending them back = loss of a huge investment + a very high chance of them loathing the country that sent them back.

To redhats it's purely about race and getting as many brown people out of America as possible, any excuse possible.

We should try to stop more of them from coming in illegally, but I can't even fathom how anyone can try to send these kids back to a country they've never known. How fucking cold hearted are Republicans?

I'm pretty sure just to be a Republican you have to lack empathy. As a group they are some of the most selfish people Ive ever seen.

The thing is Trump isn't sending any of them back.
He is asking Congress to make DACA into an actual LEGAL law instead of just a Pres. Obama "says so" piece of paper.

There were already over a dozen state attorney's general filing lawsuits over the constitutionality of DACA and it had no chance in the Supreme Court.

But when Congress enacts a real law (actually does their job for once)...then it is constitutional.
And President Trump has already stated several times now that he will sign it immediately.

I am not sure how I feel about this. I just don't care too much.

I feel sorry for the kids. They've done nothing wrong. Their parents did this.

On the other hand, I remember that woman in Georgia who got pulled over and arrested on a college campus. She was brought here as a child and technically did nothing wrong. However, the realty is everything she has done since then has been illegal. She got pulled over and it was discovered she didn't have a driver's license or insurance. Pretty much every day she broke the law just by driving to school.

I think the proper option is to allow them them stay in the US and apply for US citizenship. However, it should be a long term process, meaning if they commit a single crime in ten years they lose the opportunity to become US citizens and get deported.

I feel sorry for those kids. But the facts are clear. There are not enough decent jobs and house to look after native Americans, many who fought in the wars you keep going to.

You have out of control borrowing because of the Welfare payments and a too low tax revenue. So raise tax 10% to pay for the overpopulation all you liberals are asking for.

I came up with a solution the Wall. It doesn't need to be a wall, just two parallel 10-foot high fences. Then place all the lions, tigers, leopards that are in private hands into the area. Place CCTV cameras every 20 feet and do a live Internet broadcast of the action. Advertising on the Internet will pay for it.

I'm not sure that we are all that special to the rest of the world. The "be like us" model does not seem to resonate with those "poor and oppressive" countries anymore. Let's ask one of the DACA kids if he or she would like to be dropped off at some airport in some shithole country with a sandwich and five bucks.
