Mueller gets Facebook warrant - hints Kushner aided Russians targeting fake ads

Aiding a foreign power to interfere in our elections is not a good thing. It takes a lot of proof of possible crime to get a warrant of this magnitude from a magistrate. Like Trump didn't know

"Mueller has obtained a search warrant to investigate ?inauthentic? Facebook accounts that are believed to have been operated by Russian-sponsored ?troll farms? in and around the former Soviet Union. Rangappa said this reveals two key pieces of information."

"The granular nature of the targeting, observers say, indicates that someone in the U.S. with intimate knowledge of polling data was helping the Russians. Early indications are the President Donald Trump?s son-in-law Jared Kushner may be the U.S. confederate who aided and abetted a foreign power in its effort to disrupt the election."

------

‘This is big news’: Bob Mueller’s Facebook warrant signals stunning new turn in Russia probe

Special Counsel Bob Mueller?s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election has obtained a warrant to investigate Facebook?s role in spreading Russian misinformation to targeted U.S. regions.

The move reportedly opens a whole new avenue of speculation about what the investigation is finding and where it is leading, said Business Insider on Saturday.

?This is big news,? said former FBI counterintelligence agent Asha Rangappa, ?and potentially bad news for the Russian election interference ?deniers.'?

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti told BI?s Natasha Bertrand that the warrant ?may be the biggest news in the case since the Manafort raid? ? referring to the pre-dawn FBI raid on the home of former Trump 2016 campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Mueller has obtained a search warrant to investigate ?inauthentic? Facebook accounts that are believed to have been operated by Russian-sponsored ?troll farms? in and around the former Soviet Union. Rangappa said this reveals two key pieces of information.

One is that the investigation was able to convince a judge that there is reason to believe that a crime has been committed. Secondly, the prosecutor must show that the information sought by the investigation will provide evidence of the crime.

?The key here, though, is that Mueller clearly already has enough information on these accounts ? and their link to a potential crime to justify forcing [Facebook] to give up the info,? Rangappa said. ?That means that he has uncovered a great deal of evidence through other avenues of Russian election interference.?

Mariotti said that the Facebook warrant ?means that Mueller has concluded that specific foreign individuals committed a crime by making a ?contribution? in connection with an election.?

The prosecutor continued, ?It also means that he has evidence of that crime that convinced a federal magistrate judge of two things: first, that there was good reason to believe that the foreign individual committed the crime. Second, that evidence of the crime existed on Facebook.?

The implications for Trump campaign staffers are not good, given that the targeted ads bought by foreign interests were geographically targeted to very specific regions where polling showed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was vulnerable.

The granular nature of the targeting, observers say, indicates that someone in the U.S. with intimate knowledge of polling data was helping the Russians. Early indications are the President Donald Trump?s son-in-law Jared Kushner may be the U.S. confederate who aided and abetted a foreign power in its effort to disrupt the election.

?It is a crime to know that a crime is taking place and to help it succeed. That?s aiding and abetting. If any Trump associate knew about the foreign contributions that Mueller?s search warrant focused on and helped that effort in a tangible way, they could be charged,? Mariotti explained.

The House Intelligence Committee would like to interview the head of Trump 2016?s digital operation Brad Parscale, who worked closely with Kushner and ran the campaign?s digital operation from Austin, TX.

"in and around former Soviet Union" is the key to this article. Meaning Ukraine.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Every week we get a little bit closer to the truth. The facts are starting to add up.

The Russian connection to the Facebook ads are very, very interesting. From what I understand someone was feeding Russia data on where to target, and they bought ads in bulk. The question is who was feeding them this information? Was it Jared? Kelly Ann Conway? Somewhere along the line there was some kind of communication between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Somewhere along the line money also changed hands.

My guess is that they are all involved. Jared and Trump Jr organized everything, Trump himself knew about it. The money was passed through Manafort. Kelly Ann Conway had the data; Flynn and Sessions passed it to the Russians.

Don't believe this is true? That meeting they had with the Russian attorney.... Her former client was the KGB. Her history is very interesting too - over night a government employee went from making $1500 a year to tens of thousands a year.

This also explains why there was so many secret meetings between Trump's staff and the Russian government which they all tried to lie about.

The truth is the US intelligence community knows exactly what happened. The CIA and agencies we do not know exist read everything the Russian government talks about. The Intelligence Community is slowly pointing investigators in the right direction. The investigators are clearly following the money trail.

This is only a portion of the investigation. They are also looking into who hacked the DNC, who passed the information to Wikileaks, all of the fake news stories and fake news sites, and all of the attempts to hack voting machines.

We already know who did it all. You are just to blind to see it. These "leaks" are intentional to throw the blind off track.. Mueller will be Trumps next Supreme Court appointment.

Do I believe there was collusion between the Trump people and the Russian government? At first I wasn't sure.

One of the things I wasn't sure about was all of the secret meetings. There is nothing wrong with someone from the Trump campaign or any government employee meeting with a member of a foreign government. Jeff Sessions is a good example. He was on the Armed Services Committee, and meet with the Russian ambassador at the Republican Convention. On the face of it you would thing this is perfectly normal. However, none of the other members of the Armed Forces Committee had met with anyone from the Russian government in the past two years. Sessions didn't inform the State Department about this meeting, no less the CIA. This would be standard for any Congressman or Senator. What's even worse, Sessions not only tried to conceal this meeting but also lied about it under oath.

If this meeting (wasn't there more than one?) was perfectly normal, why did Jeff Sessions go through such great lengths to conceal it?

Everyone on the campaign and or Trump administration knows secret meetings with the Russians was a hot topic but yet there was no attempt to come forward with other past meetings with the Russians? Why wouldn't Jared have his staff go over ALL of his meetings for the past year and come up with a list of all / any meetings that might have involved anyone who may work for the Russian government? Why did they wait until a newspaper threaten to expose the story, and even then continue to hold back information until that same newspaper planed to publish the emails?

There is a large pattern of cover up here.

Of course we have Flynn and Manafort who worked for foreign governments.

At some point in time the investigation team will go these Trump people and say "We are going to charge you with a large number of crimes" and they will be facing very serious jail time. You don't think they will quickly make a deal?

Do you really think Flynn is going to be willing to spend his last twenty years in prison?

Do you really think Trump is going to hand out pardons to any of these people?

(Clearly I am utterly bored tonight....)

Here is the best part.... Even if there is no collusion and no one in the Trump campaign worked with anyone from the Russian government, you damn well know they are going to uncover a large number of crimes.

We already know Trump has violated all kinds of laws with his so called "foundation" no less any of his other businesses..... The crap they will uncover will at least lead to Trump being impeached if not removed from office.

This is amazing to watch. This is a thousand times bigger than Watergate.

Mueller can't go beyond the scope. Think about what your saying for a minute. And then think about the past 2 Presidents and beyond. You can't witch hunt one President and not the others. It's not going to happen.

Secondly, you admitted yourself he's likely investigating the DNC shit. Well we have proof and facts that Awan stole data. The only person arrested so far is democrat employee. He's the key. He and his wife are going to roll so they can go back to their country. And if you dismiss his charges as nothing think about the fact that Wasserman-Schultz not only vouched for the mortgages she forced the bank to give at least one. Also the fact that her hard drive has been entered into evidence in his "mortgage loan" case.

Manafort has more of a history with John Podesta than he does with Trump. Everything that has been leaked has to do with those dealings. They both are the ones scrambling to cover their asses not Trump.

The higher ups in the democratic party know whats coming. That's why they've been priming their base. Priming them so when it does happen they unleash their anger on the general populace.

What any one has done in the Democratic party is history and is not of any import. They do not currently control the government. The only thing of import is what those that are in power have done and are currently doing. Nothing else is of concern.

So if you're a democrat right now you can get away with murder eh? I'm sure at least 1 hopes she has. It won't be long before she's like "What happened?"

Of course he can go "beyond the scope". Of course he can. Remember Whitewater? An investigation into an investment ended up with President Clinton being impeached for lying under oath.

Really? That's odd. The Republican party went after Hillary Clinton over her email server set up, but never investigated anyone else who used the same exact set up. Why is that?

EVERYONE involved in this has lied. Every last person. This has been a cover up since day one.

I assume your are speaking about Hillary when you say "she" and if so it does not have any affect on our country if she is convicted or not convicted of anything and that applies to any Democrat in or out of office. What is important to the country is what those currently in office are doing or have done.

Hillary is a washed up "wanna be" and does not have a role in government anymore and will never have ever again unless she runs for some local office.

Hillary wasn't President.

Oh yes it will. For a period of time all of you crazed Trump hating democrats will be burning down cities and shit. That's where the prime comes in. These people figure if they are going down they will take the US down with them. But it won't play out like that. Too many people see through the BS. It will probably make things better for us all because lots of useless individuals will be off the streets.

It's not just Hillary. MANY democrats and even some Republicans will be implicated once it's all said and done. Once one domino falls the rest will fall. Wasserman-Schultz isn't the type to take all the blame. She's going to roll and then the rolling continues on right to the top. These aren't people from the streets we are talking about here. They are afraid of jail even if it is a cush fed pen.

The Special Prosecutor was appointed to investigate Whitewater initially but he went far beyond that scope. It turned out that he looked into every possible thing in Bill's life and eventually President Clinton was impeached. There is not any scope when it involves a Special Prosecutor. They do not take orders from anyone, but a President can and has fired a couple of them, but there is not any point to firing them as another takes his place and the investigation continues and usually with more vigor than before.

The whole purpose of big data and data mining is to get these sort of results. Political data would be analysed by hundreds of companies.

Most media and social networks, target information you receive from them

It used to be called brain washing, "bombard someone with a particular idea until they believe it." These days its called targeted advertising...

As technology increases so does our ability to target the individual online.

VERY soon, a political party will be able to target an individual and tell them exactly what they want or need to hear to give that party a vote. And when we are at that stage.. its not a democracy anymore.

I'm pretty sure when Trump met with Mueller for a "job interview" the day before he was appointed the discussion wasn't about orders.

It's not that its new, its that we are being very good at it, 2016 was nothing compared to 2020, 2024, 2028.

Currently ALL political parties world wide are looking for better ways to target their message to the individual.

QFT but the usual intent had been commercial -- this is a new, perhaps inevitable, trend ...

This is an investigation. In fact, it's one of the largest and most important investigations the United States has ever had. There is no limitations on what the investigators can or cannot look at. You surely cannot put limitations on looking to all of their finances - That's the very first thing investigators look at. If Manafort suddenly deposits two million dollars into his bank account, we need to know why. If Manafort suddenly buys a house, we need to where that money came from.

When they find other crimes have been committed, we will investigate those too. Of course they will. They will not say "Oh, we see you committed tax fraud and pockets millions of dollars, but we'll just ignore that". It doesn't work that way.

The impeachment process of Bill Clinton was initiated by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, against Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice.[1] These charges stemmed from a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against Clinton by Paula Jones. Clinton was subsequently acquitted of these charges by the Senate on February 12, 1999.[2] Two other impeachment articles ? a second perjury charge and a charge of abuse of power ? failed in the House.

Janet Reno expanded the Whitewater investigation. Kenneth Star didn't himself. Mueller can't expand without authorization from a higher up to do so.

Clinton was acquitted of impeachment by the senate in 1999. You redhat nics have no issue lying through your teeth to anyone that will listen.

Bill Clinton is innocent in the eyes of the law and was never impeached.

Bill Clinton's impeachment trial ends, Feb. 12, 1999 - POLITICO

Mueller has a broad mandate: Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

This includes Trump money laundering, Kushner working with the Russians, etc.

It's funny how when things get real hot you scream "that's not fair it's off limits!"

?This is big news?: Bob Mueller?s Facebook warrant signals stunning new turn in Russia probe

You are so pathetic, lol

There's been no mention of Trump money laundering. There's the assumption by the left that he was. But if you actually look at what Mueller's doing, admitted to by the left, he's investigating Manfort's dealings in Ukraine. His dealings with the Podesta Group... Money laundering in Ukraine dealings... Again, Podesta and Manafort are the one's scrambling to file disclosures because of Mueller's investigation. Not Trump.

It is. If facebook ads are evidence of election tampering and/or collusion then facebook is 100% guilty themselves.

Magical. So you just confirmed that what I said was correct. As I said earlier, President Clinton was impeached during the Whitewater investigation for lying under oath.

I am getting tired of repeating myself.... The investigation will obviously look into Trump's finances. The very fact that Trump refused to release any of his tax information gives them a perfectly valid reason to look into their finances. Trump made a huge profit off of a mansion in Florida which was sold to a Russian citizen, which will have to be investigated.

Mueller doesn't need "permission" to look into Trump's finances.

No, not at all. Facebook bought and sold ads. There is nothing illegal about that, nor did they know a foreign government was behind the ad buys.

Whatever. The investigation is still going, isn't going away, and is picking up steam. This isn't going away.

Everyone who works for Trump has lied about secret meetings with Russia. Every last one of them.

Facebook changed their trending links right around the time of the DNC convention because they couldn't control the narrative. Since as everyone knows they have had far left organizations monitoring this part of the site.

Muller has open range he can follow anything he feels pertains to his investigation. Just like with Kenneth Star starting with real estate deals and ending with a BJ..

It's not just Muller now. Congress is now in talks to open up a 9/11 style commission on the Russian hacking.

Trump is done, he may go quietly with some back table deal, but he's gone one way or another..

If special counsel Robert Mueller finds any crime outside the scope of the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, then he'll have to seek permission, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said Sunday.

"Bob Mueller understands and I understand the specific scope of the investigation, and so no, it's not a fishing expedition," he told host Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday."

Rosenstein is perhaps best known as the man behind the memo that Trump initially cited as the reason why he fired FBI Director James Comey in May. Rosenstein sent a memorandum to Trump before the firing, noting that Comey’s public statements and his handling of the FBI's investigation in Hillary Clinton's email server had “damaged public confidence in the bureau and department.”

Following Comey's firing, Trump spoke highly of Rosenstein. "He's ... respected -- very good guy, very smart guy. The Democrats like him. The Republicans like him,” Trump said on May 11, in an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt. (However, Trump later said he would have fired Comey regardless of Rosenstein's memo.)

In summary, the guy who suggested Trump fire Comey hired Mueller the day after Trump met with him for a "job interview"

Onewebcam you can try to excuse this away, but you are missing an enormous fact.

Muller was granted a federal warrant to obtain these Facebook ad information. Muller had to prove a crime was involved to get the warrant.

A federal judge isn't handing out a warrant for a fishing trip. This is most likely the biggest news in this investigation so far just like the seach of manforts offices..

Both times judges had to be given proof that a crime had likely taken place in order to give out a warrant..

This is very damning news from Trump & co..
