I never heard of the book until I heard about the movie. Sad, I know...

wow, talking about cgi overload... Trailer started good, until they go into the 'fantasy world'... A movie like this covering the interesting real world they built would be great. Fantasy mode completely misses the mark for me, it looks horrible.

For those not familiar with the story, the trailer doesn't really tell you a whole lot about it.
In the future, the world is a shithole and most people now spend most of their time in a virtual world known as The Oasis. In this virtual world, you can make money, have a job, meet people, go on adventures etc. When the creator of this world dies, he leaves behind a puzzle. Anyone who is able to solve it and find the item he has hidden somewhere in the virtual world will inherit his entire fortune - billions of dollars and control of The Oasis. As you might imagine, chaos ensues. |

My thoughts as well. Was intrigued until saw things like cartoon moto bike etc. Complete let down from the first side of the trailer.

Love how Nico-T and Mineistaken nics always back each other up in unison on negative comments. Both have been gone awhile and they both came back yesterday Polish aristocrat

In the book, and I assume the movie, it is a cyber/fantasy world, but the creator loved the 1980's so it is packed full of 80's nostalgia. So it has a very old school vibe at times.

It looks like a great story, and its directed by Steve-o. It can't miss.
