Study Suggests That Apple Deliberately Sabotages Old Products
Study Suggests That Apple Deliberately Sabotages Old Products, ?iPhone Slow? Peaks After Every New Release
Time and time again I?ve heard people complain about their iPhones or Mac laptops getting slower and slower, forcing them to purchase entirely new products. However, many people who have experienced this technological lull also noticed that the deterioration of their Apple products coincided with the launch of Apple?s new products. To be honest, if Apple was doing this, it would be a pretty smart business move. They launch new products periodically, and all of them are really just slightly fancier versions of their older models. People don?t often need these products, they simply want them. They only become a ?need? when their older models break or malfunction. Personally, I love these products! But every 2-4 years, my iPhones all of a sudden malfunction and my MacBook will randomly get slower. The question is: Are these products simply malfunctioning thanks to ?old age? and natural wear and tear, or are they breaking because Apple purposefully slows down its older models prior to releasing new ones? A study performed by student Laura Trucco at Harvard University aimed at determining whether or not there was any truth behind the claims that Apple sabotages its own products prior to releasing new models. The study reviewed worldwide searches for ?iPhone slow? and discovered that this particular phrase was searched for significantly more whenever a new iPhone was about to be launched. Trucco then compared those results to the findings of other searches for Apple?s competitors? phones, such as ?Samsung Galaxy slow,? and found that the phrase was not searched for more around the time that a new Samsung phone model was released. You can then review the number of searches for ?Samsung Galaxy slow? in comparison to the release dates for their new phone models: Continued http://www.collective-evolution.com/...y-new-release/

Something definately to this and i've long suspected it. I have an old ipad, it used to be very snappy. Even a factory reset doesn't help it, you can barely even type in the browser now.

Yes, that's planned obsolescence for your device. You replace your device because the software updates make it useless, purposely. Same with our phones.

Samsung does the same shit.. I have a galaxy S4 that works fine for what I need except the gps for maps lags.. it used to work perfect then after a update it had been obviously slowed down..
Sometimes it wont even find my location. Meanwhile, I can take that very phone set it up as a hot spot and the gps works perfect on my tablet which is the exact same OS, same map program same internet connection but its a brand new Tab A

They wanted me to pay $150us for a new battery. Fuck em, I paid $22us for a portable external charger. Also, there is a documentary about this called The Lightbulb Conspiracy. Several examples of this type of bullshit.
It actually started with lightbulbs in the 1930s. All the big companies got together and agreed no lightbulb would last more than 1000 hours. In one instance it was found that a chip inside a desktop printer was designed to send an error messge after so many prints. This hacker wrote some code and the guy in the documentary downloaded the code, installed it on the printer, and was able to print again. Ever wonder why manufacturers went with USB1 protocol when they had tech for USB3.0 protocol at the time? They'd lose all the revenue of consumers transitioning through the hardware upgrades.

HP was sued because their printer software "expired" perfectly good ink cartridges so consumers would buy more ink from them. Now HP is being sued again for giving a ?preset failure date for non-HP ink cartridges.? Planned obsolescence. fucking scumbags. http://www.mouseprint.org/2016/10/03...izes-to-users/ |

It's a well known fact that most, if not all companies build a shelf life into a product to get consumers to buy a new product. Why do you think your fucking printer packs up within weeks of the warranty expiring? |

Nothing would surprise me. Products used to be made to last, now they have a shorter life.
