I had the time of my life there for 5 years wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Honestly.
The bugs are out of this world though, as 8f you were on another planet and the Chinese flying cockroaches are demonic as are the huge black wasps that are the size of your finger and fly in to stab a hunstman spider full of its eggs. The stories I could tell you 🤤 |

I remember a photo of beautiful nature without any insects. And there was a description under the photo:
'There are 1500 insects that can kill you. Australia.' It was my first acquaintance with this country. But in fact, some time ago I was in this country, and everything was thought out about animals and insects. In all parks there were clear instructions. In densely populated areas, there are very few dangerous animals and insects. If you live on the 3rd floor or higher, then do not worry, you won't have uninvited guests

I also remember, as we were driving somewhere outside the city. Then a road sign appeared:
And after that, kangaroos started jumping across the road more often than every minute. They were like homeless cats or dogs. In 10 minutes I saw about 30 kangaroos...

I always laugh at Americans who are too afraid to go to Australia because of dangerous snakes and insects.
Australia: 1 death from a spider bite in 37 years. USA: Black Widow and Brown Recluse spiders kill 6.5 people per year USA 2016, number of gun violence incidents :58753, deaths: 15078. |

My place on the water in Oz, the whole water facing side, back of the house, was foldable window doors, that I'd always leave open for the view of the grapefruit & lemon trees in my yard & the water, even when I wasn't home. One day I came home & they were closed and just as I noticed my neighbor came over frantic and said look out your back yard. She'd sealed the back of the house up for me because a huge swarm of Africanized bees had flown through the neighborhood and settled on the lemon tree in my back yard. Through the years we had flying cockroaches fly in the house while we're drinking, litterally look at the guy next to me, run straight at him, up his leg and fly on his face. No joke. We had blue tongue lizards nesting in the roof. You could hear them walk.. one step, two step, slide the tail one step, two step, slide the tail. Was creepy as fuck. Huntsman spiders the size of your had walking up the wall at night. Dung beetles coming in at night , falling over on their backs and making hissing sounds. Scary when you don't know what that is in the dark lol Most people might not die because of the bugs or wildlife there but visitors will never forget their encounters with the creatures there. Wouldn't trade it for the world though the best 5 years of my son's life, and my life, so far |
