Fucking idiots. House slashes funding for clean energy, restores funding for fossil fuel research

Because: Fucking idiots.

https://thinkprogress.org/house-slas...l-3e656aef1074

Quote:
The House of Representatives voted Thursday to approve a large spending bill for fiscal year 2018 that slashes clean energy spending and approves keeping fossil fuel research at current levels.

In a spending package known as the “minibus,” the House voted to set the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s (EERE) budget at $1.1 billion, a 45 percent cut from the office’s fiscal 2017 budget of more than $2 billion. The Trump administration requested an even bigger cut for the Department of Energy office that would have lowered its budget to to $636 million, or 70 percent, below the 2017 budget.

The funding measure passed 235–192, with five Democrats voting for, five Republicans voting against, and six representatives abstaining.

Now it goes to the Senate. The Senate is fiscally conservative they will never pass a bill like that.

The House under Paul Ryan is disgusting, part of the problem in Washington

Love the first comment to that:

Why, exactly, do global corporations earning 30+ BILLION in NET PROFIT each QUARTER, need my tax dollars to fund their research??

GOP: choosing Winner and Losers, because that?s how corruption works.

Robbie says that in this thread.

In a coal company or car company funding thread he'll flip flop and make excuses as always.

Funding research & innovation is what brings a nation forward.

exactly. this is nothing but cutting funding for LIBERAL ADVOCACY, funded by taxpayers.

somehow the left is incapable of funding their so called great ideas for the people with private money. they cloak their taxpayer funded boondoggles with all manner of "causes" that sound so horrible when they are cut.

I mean, look at the mental midget mark prince whine & wallow over a propaganda hit piece, that wont tell him the truth that its just liberal shit getting flushed. what a stupid dupe.

mark prince if its worth doing, get private money for it, dumb lib. oh wait, all these "green" companies are going bankrupt without taxpayer funding. gee, wonder why???

too bad so sad. if only hilary just campaigned in wisconson, dumb libs.

You might want to research just which of those companies you mention have gotten government handouts in a variety of forms before marrying yourself to them as an example of the government not helping them.

For example, since 2004 Microsoft has received somewhere in the area of $300 million in various forms of government aid.

LOL you're coming at me with 2004? yes kane, huge companies of all kinds get corporate welfare pork barrels. that wasnt my point...

you might wanna research just when microsoft was founded & how much govt handouts they needed when it was a start up.

same with apple. facebook.

let me know when you find the govt giving zuckerberg billions to start facebook. & facebook being unable to survive without it...

isnt it magical when innovation happens without govt welfare checks? dumb libs talk like innovation can't happen without free taxpayer money. thats all liberals know...spend spend spend the taxpayer dollar on liberal causes, no matter the economic viability.

Republicans are just idiots there is no longer any need to argue about it. The dumb dumbs here will praise this type of thing because they are too stupid to think for themselves.

The dumb dumbs have been brainwashed into everything being team sports so destruction of the environment equal liberals being mad so it must be good.

They are too stupid to figure out they also need clean water to drink and they also get cancer because they are exposed to the shit.

But oh no the top priority is to do the exact opposite of what liberals want even if it means drinking piss water!

Bit like Trump saying Foxconn is going to spend $10 billion when the only deal that's been done is Tax payers handing them 3 billion.

I guess my point was that there are very few big companies in this country that haven't gotten some kind of government handouts. Some get more than others.

They all pay millions to lobbyists to suck from mother liberties titty. If they can't get them here they beg China, Canada & Mexico and move factories to the highest bidder. Part of the reason jobs leave America.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniperus_virginiana

The birds delivered seeds from my neighbor's tree that grew in one season into 8" tall seedlings of his eastern red cedar. I was trying to figure out where to transplant them to -- verified the leaf (evergreen) then Google'd that species -- these are basically 'junk trees' read the link.

Quote:
Trees are destructive to grasslands if left unchecked, and are actively being eliminated by cutting and prescribed burning.[14] The trees also burn very readily, and dense populations were blamed for the rapid spread of wildfires in drought stricken Oklahoma and Texas in 2005 and 2006.[15]

Eastern juniper benefits from increased CO2 levels, unlike the grasses with which it competes. Many grasses are C4 plants that concentrate CO2 levels in their bundle sheaths to increase the efficiency of RuBisCO, the enzyme responsible for photosynthesis, while junipers are C3 plants that rely on (and may benefit from) the natural CO2 concentrations of the environment, although they are less efficient at fixing CO2 in general.[16]
No wonder it is growing so fast -- it's eating the CO2 in the air for energy.

You want it? I have cut down trees here so I can get some sun ... Maybe, I can trim the tops so it becomes a 2.5 meter tall hedge ...

no kane. your objective was to try & prove me wrong. this is your GFY modus operendi...tear down anything you read from the right. Sometimes you catch ace pimp, or me, on a bad angle. Today, you failed. my point that innovations dont require govt funding was spot on. your retort missed its mark.

you & newnick & steve rupe. the 3 of you feign this independence. but all you do is critique & attack anyone that puts out a right wing idea on this forum. you make no threads, take no stands. just a critic. like the movie critics.

bottom line is that congress is cutting funding to liberal advocacy, disguised as innovations. but in reality, economically non-viable. or else venture capitalists would fund it, like they did facebook. but thinkprogress just puts out bullshit propaganda, that makes dumb sheep like mark prince think cutting funding for liberal free money is terrible. & the dumb sheep cry, here on GFY.

bottom line is that congress is cutting funding to liberal advocacy, disguised as innovations. but in reality, economically non-viable. or else venture capitalists would fund it, like they did facebook. but thinkprogress just puts out bullshit propaganda, that makes dumb sheep like mark prince think cutting funding for liberal free money is terrible. & the dumb sheep cry, here on GFY.

Actually, my point was, as I said, that most big companies get free money or some kind of aid from the government. Did Microsoft need the $300 million they have gotten so succeed? Likely, no, but they certainly didn't turn it down and it did something to help them either grow their business or increase their profits.

There have been a few different right wing things I have agreed with recently and I have said so. I am fine with the Muslim ban. I would like to see it refined and expanded as it doesn't include Saudi Arabia which is one of the biggest sponsors of terrorism yet our leaders line up to suck their cocks. I am fine with tougher immigration and getting rid of illegals. I think the wall will either never be built or if built will end up likely being a waste of money that doesn't really help much.

You are free to think whatever you want about me.

So far, this summer has been on the cool side to normal here -- what the next few years will bring IDK -- maybe that red cedar can be trimmed to a shrub or hedge -- the price of the seedling is right LOL.

no. your point was to try & prove me wrong, which you failed to do. you didnt make your corporate welfare comment as a general point. you responded to my post by quoting it, & smugly told me to do my research. So STFU & stop kidding yourself.

& then you feel the need to qualify yourself as independent by putting forth some viewpoints i have never seen you write. You never stuck up for me when i attack illegal immigrantion & dumb libs troll me on it. You dont say anything. You dont make any threads supporting any trump positions. you never spoke out against liberals shooting up baseball fields, egging trump women. but here, all of a sudden, you're a moderate.

nigga please. you are just a left wing troll. end of message.

First, I have made statements defending and talking about things I mentioned in this thread several times in the past. I'm not going to waste my time searching for them. For a while, I thought you were just a troll having fun pissing people off on GFY. It is GFY after all, however, I always had a sinking suspicion you might actually be an asshole and this wasn't just some fun little hobby. Then you made the post comparing liberals to people with Down Syndrome. I happen to have a very close friend, a friend I have known since I was 10 years old, who has a child who has Down Syndrome. I get a little defensive when I see people talking down about those afflicted with Down Syndrome. At that point I realized full and well you were an asshole. So, in the past, I haven't defended you because I had a sinking suspicion you were a shitty person and recently that suspicion was confirmed.

From here on I will just choose not to reply to your posts/threads.

I disagree. Funding helps start-up companies make their products and grow faster. This means more jobs, more exports, more money. And depending on the structure, it can be the bank that provides the money while the government just guarantees it.

If you have a really good idea, especially one that brings innovation or helps solve a problem, the government can be really helpful.

You hate what you don't understand, and its keeping you down. No problem, let the world step on you if that's what you're into.

And yeah JoshuaDynamo, Kane easily proved you wrong. Stop being a bitch and accept your loss already.

Our constitution doesn't say anything about funding company's.

That is basically the govt. picking "winners and losers". And you better believe that corrupt lifetime politicians have been getting filthy rich off getting paid off to pick those "winners".

Think about it Mark.
Let's say that you and Elon Musk started off a the same time with the same idea. But Musk has backers who pay off the proper Senators and Congressman and contribute to the proper Presidential candidate.

So now Pres. Obama gives Musk billions and billions of dollars and your company dies.

How about this...the MARKET can decide. Keep govt. OUT of it.
