NK as real threat according to some people

what do you huys think about it?
i've just read article and i must confess i was with naysayers, never beliewed that NK could pose threat to giant like US, do you think this site (zerohedge) is correct about NK capabilities (ICBM, EMP strike from satellite etc..)?

What i found interesting they saying what NK could do but no one ask what US can do, beside obvious military strenght i think US have some aces in sleeve that no one knows about or no one know it's capabilities (like belowed by conspiracy theories HAARP).

any country, no matter the size can be a threat, it only takes a chemical into water to create huge loss of life. But a threat to anyone, I believe the US is the threat to the world with DirtyDon with his big ego, NKīs just playing with big boys toys & only saying they can do what others can do

I am glad I have lived 2/3 of my live expectancy (assuming I get to 92) -- not so much to lose. I am sure others with families or still young are shitting bricks these days.

I lived through the "Cold War' years and there was comfort knowing the Red Chinese and Soviets didn't really have a death wish -- we just threw 'stones' at each other with an occasional proxy 'war'.

You have to hope Kim is not suicidal -- that is what a North Korean attack would be.

watched many NK movies documentaries (like series made by vice.com) and i think US just doesn't want to kill those people. imagine 2-3 million of brainwashed NK soldiers, sure US have capability to erase them with few strikes but i think even agressive country like US doesn't want to have so many souls on their account
i think they (russia, china, US) will be just waiting for some domestic civil war maybe support them quietly and let north koreans take care of their regime but from what i've seen i have no idea how this could be achieved - everything is so hard under kim kontrols there.
don't know where it all leads and how it ends, but i doubt kim's missiles will reach anything i think russia and china will take it down after launch if it pose serious threat really, what was interesting in this article was this nuclear strike from satellite to shut down electricity grid by EMP - didn't know it's possible but sounds logical.

what america could do is quite easy but would destroy a lot more battlefields what feeds the US weapon industry.

they just have to be RELIABLE and not want to be first.

china would be the first country what could destroy NK without any army strikes.
if they stop dealing with NK - game over.

but WHO would be than their neighbor ?
south korea and that is the same as they would have a border to USA.

especially under trump there will not be any solution with NK because china donīt want a neighbor who lies and changes his mind with every new day.

I think the NK regime will keep pushing until it has nowhere to go but war. Then it's up to a strong US leader to tell China to crack down on that regime.

I don't hold out much hope for the EU to do anything.

what shall the EU do?
starting a war with NK ?

if europeans would react like that we would not have peace since over 70 years now in europe.

the question here is WHY did they not see there another chance as to go for nukes?

why does another comunist country like vietnam does not have the same behaviour?

the answer is easy when you look at the facts.

vietnam never got under economic pressure - NK was sanctioned since it exists.

NK was just a half lost war for the US - vietnam was a complete lost war and they had the chance to survive.

you canīt compare asian mentality with european mentality and try to force them to think as we do. why should they not have the chance to make their comunist dream come true? it is THEIR fucking life and not ours.

if NK would have the same chance as vietnam it would possibly be the same peaceful country. and now guess who was the one in the world what attacked communism with all they had just to prove that their system is the better one?

IF a system IS better - it will survive without any pressure. if not it will fail anyway.
THIS is the big problem of "america first"

who said anything about EU doing anything?
EU where keeping screwdriver in your pocked can lead to jail time (UK for example) not to mention dreadly pocket knife

NK fate lies in hands of Russia, China and US

They only get dangerous when they sell their weapons to even worse people.

China 'our friend' doesn't mind what N Korea does.
I am not pro war and Europe must stay away from a war.

nobody know if they havenīt done that already and this would be indeed a MUCH bigger problem.

try to see the situation from chinaīs point and you will see that this is not that easy for them.
actually they are controlling NK and i think not even kim is that stupid that he would not know that he canīt survive ANY attack to ANY country.
he is stupid but not so stupid and he loves his life.

that is why china is not in hurry to resolve that issue.

i am sure europe WILL stay away from any military intervention and tries to find a diplomatic solution no matter how long it needs.

i think europe have even more influence on china as US have because china wants to deal with us (here we are again on the difference between a country like holland or germany or a european union what represents the buying power of 510 million people)

china can lose usa trades (what would be hard for them) but would never survive without europe.

so actually trumpīs politic did not make usa first. he made america last because he is unable to act without china, russia or the EU. i donīt think that even he is so stupid to throw his country in a historical crisis just to show how important they are. that would be REALLY stupid because he already teached the planet that they have to find their own relations without USA. america would stand fucking alone.

I see NK as a huge threat; they will have ICBMs capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to continental US in 18 months. It will not be the cold war. It will be much worse.

what wonders me: lets say NK will have ICBM ready so how many missiles actually they can have?

cuz US anti-missile shield can hold prob most of what russia can send and i think NK are capable of delivering like one or two maybe? i mean armed missiles not empty ones. are they really threat? it's poor country, how many nuclear missiles they can have? surely not enough to any of it reach US, or am i wrong?

Are you for real? Scare mongering must work on your media channels if you really think so.

Unless you mean something else (over population, invasion etc, but not a nuclear war).

I live in Korea, and for the most part Koreans are not worried about North Korea too much.
IF they attack full bore with their missiles(non nuclear) those spots will be targetted and destroyed fairly quickly. Thus eliminating their use in the future. The war would be quick and bloody mostly for the cities of Incheon and Seoul.

Keep in mind south Korea is heavily militarized, i live here there are massive cannons hidden in the city everywhere. All pointing North. There are a few strategists who have mapped out several scenarios.

What is more dangerous is the north koreans that have slipped inside the country and are waiting to pull some shit...shutting down water...electricity, planting bombs.

in a war the north koreans would be wiped out...troops? no match, no matter what, no one is matching the tech that is available to the US and south korean troops. shooting off their 100,000 missiles at south korea? that is a one time attack, and estimates say that 40-60% of them will fail because they are old and unkept.

Currently the leader enjoys a lifestyle that lets him have romance you can't even fathom..2-3 girls a day, bred for him. The best cheeses and wines, he imports hollywood film reels for his own private viewing.

Rumours say he is one of the biggest drug dealers in the world. He likes money and power too much to lose it all in 1 war. The end result being he will be killed his kids killed his family killed.

No.korea is no danger at all but the military industrial complex and the media need it to be so...they are 100% right to have and develop more nukes...when the USA starts disarming then it can bitch about nukes...untill these all nations without nukes are potentially the next Vietnam....fuck that....no reason for invaders to feel safe

i completely agree with that and i am pretty sure that kim would agree too.
that is why an attack on NK would be the only REALLY dangerous reaction.

kim have seen how saddam endet up and if he know that he will not survive he would press the nuke button for sure.
