Naive parents leave child unattended for 5 minutes with pit bulls in the house.

Yeah, pit bulls get another "bad rep".

No one has been arrested...."hot car dad" is like damn, I could have just bought a pit bull.

I wouldn't even leave my 15 month old niece alone with my labs. You never know what might set them off to act instinctually. They'd probably slobber her to death but still

You've not seen a pack of feral, previously domesticated, wild dogs comprised of different breeds big and small. Pack mentality is a real thing, or do you disagree with that as well?

The owner is the pack leader. When the owner is gone, the next one down the chain is in charge. If you have dogs that get out of the fence and chase people when the pack leader is gone, why the fuck leave the baby with those dogs alone?

I was the same way with my lab. Mostly before my daughter could walk, I watched that dog like a hawk. He's the sweetest dog, but you never know if a switch might suddenly get flipped...and he honestly didn't look too happy about having a baby in his territory taking up all of mom and dad's attention. But he tolerated it very well and now they're buddies and play together constantly. To him she's probably a new source of cookies and dinner leftovers.
