Well this completely sucks. George Romero is dead. Had to happen. He went quietly, a better death could hardly be hoped for, in his sleep, with his family, listening to the score of the movie The Quiet Man...

When I was a kid I enjoyed scary movies. My first ever real HORROR movie, was George Romero's Dawn of the Dead.
As the movie started it had this heartbeat soundtrack. Boom-boom. Boom-boom. Boom-boom. It made me really anxious and nervous. I had no idea what the movie was about. Then people were shooting and getting shot, blood was splattering, and I was almost hiding my eyes. And then in a super-fast edit, a cop kicks down a door and blows a guys head clean-off in an explosion of blood and sound. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! That was it. I was terrified and thrilled and on the edge of my seat for the entire 2 hours.
