I remember the original version, with the voice-over, and width the happy ending and sunlight, and without the inserted unicorn dream sequence. I saw it when I was a kid and loved it.

The last edit of Bladerunner is still good, and the VFX "corrections" and digital image and sound upgrades are SPECTACULAR, especially on the big screen (I saw it last year when it was re re released).

How did it make me feel? When I first saw it, I found that I would fantasize about living in that world despite its dreary bleakness. Maybe it was because I thought "Rachel" and "Pris" were the sexiest things in the movies at the time, but probably the flying cars and futuristic cityscape were so awe inspiring.

Bladerunner is one of THE BEST Sci-fi movies ever made and will always be remembered as such. I hope the sequel coming out this year is as good.

I didn't like it at first. But I was only 8 when it came out. I didn't get it. This was probably the first movie I can remember where there wasn't a clear good guy vs bad guy story. It left me conflicted to see what I thought was the "bad guy" save the "good guy".

Now, I love it.

TBH, I cant say I have ever watched it either... I mean yeah, I'm aware of the film, and I suppose I must have seen bits of it, clips etc, but I honestly couldn't say I have watched it all the way thru or even say what it was about...

Im in no way against scifi... Just never seem to have watched it...

One of my favorite films and I have seen it at least 15 times. I think is very accurate in the way it portrays both the evolution of artificial life and artificial intelligence and yes, the cesspool that ultimately results in multicultural cities.

It made me feel happy to know what a shithole the world was going to be in the future and how much I was happy I would be long gone.

I love the original version, and hate the other version that makes Deckard a replicant. It just works so much better as Deckard as a human.

Agreed.

The original movie left you guessing. He COULD be a replicant. The Gaff character could have been trying to tell him by making those tiny Unicorns (or just wanted to mess with his head).

The later versions had to insert that very stupid dream sequence (Unicorns running through the forest) while he was at the Piano. I hated that part - I found it unnecessary and it really took me out of the movie as it was clearly filmed later, using different film stock and lighting. I think it was "borrowed" from a Tom Cruise movie (I forgot the name), the way the ending of Bladerunner used an unused sequence for The Shining at the end (Flying).

Anyway, I'm just being picky. Still a great movie.
