Buy american - Hire American.

Nothing impacts living standards of most Westerners, of all races, more than losing their jobs or the shrinking of their wages. Not even the Bank Crashes have had such a long-term devastating effect on the working classes.

Now Trump is championing a policy more working classes want. They want their jobs to stay in the West and not have their wages reduced by mass migration of unskilled or low-skilled migrants.

But the problem is the liberals and their puppet masters the 1% aren't going to allow anything to slow down the growth of their wealth. So no surprise the FT is anti such rules.

The pitfalls of having to buy and hire American. There's no problem with trading with a country that has a similar cost of living as one's own. Such as UK/Germany or US/Canada.

The problem arises when it's UK/Czech or US/Mexico. Bosses don't move their companies or buy goods from places like Czech or Mexico to pay the same wages or prices they would at home. They move them to increase profits. Which they then move to a tax haven to avoid paying out to support the country they want to sell in.

Trump and May might be the only ones who can start to turn this around and establish fairer trade deals. Forcing countries with a cheaper workforce to buy the same value in goods they intend to sell.

Yes I took advantage of the stupid laws. More fool those who are pro-free trade.

But it is different for Paul.

It is ok for him to be a feckless economic migrant.

It is ok for Paul to capitalise on another countries lower cost base in order to enrich himself.

It is ok for Paul not to learn the language or adopt the customs of his chosen low cost country.

It is ok for Paul to post endlessly witter about everything that is wrong with economic migration and how fucking easy it is to put it right.

Some American made goods are worth the extra cost -- most are not.

Most coal miners cannot afford USA made goods.

so to recap:

-do not do as paul and donald do, do as paul and donald say

-westerners are not to blame that they do not buy enough domestic goods and too much cheap china shit, china is to blame because they do not buy enough foreign goods so they must be forced to buy shit even westerners do not want to buy

So more people should lose their jobs. And you will pay more in taxes to subsidise them.

Your argument is very narrow and trying to justify a short-term policy that you believe will never affect you. The reality is it will affect and probably already has. The Third World didn't stop at making clothing and cheap items. They're now making highly sophisticated products. Taking the jobs of the high paid US executives, which is your customer base, and replacing them with lower paid Third World executives.

Even if you rely on only the bankers as customers, don't be too smug. China is growing fast as a Banking sector and the next bank crash will once again reduce your sales.

Just pray that the Third World doesn't start to bite into your cam sales by starting their own businesses.

I was one of the elite who was able to move from a place where 1-10 girls were pretty enough to work and it would take 4-5 weeks to see 10 girls. To a country where 1-5 are pretty enough to work and 10 turned up a week.

60 years ago it was extremely rare to find a Japanese motorcycle. Or clothing made in Hong Kong. 50 years ago they started to appear. Today finding a Western made motorcycle or clothing is rare.

60 years ago the UK needed men to replace the men it had lost in the war to do jobs. Today those jobs are done by people in the Third World.

Today China has a space program, builds plane parts for Boeing, car parts Mercedes and is a major force in the banking industry, etc. We were promised that the West would be making high-tech and dominate the financial sectors.

China got the memo and ignored it. Because the 1% don't see the profit in bringing back jobs. Trump will try, will the West back him and other leaders who are more interested the people than the 1%?

If poor and middle classed people are forced to buy american only at premium prices it will create jobs sure, but not the kind of jobs that would enable them to afford buying american made products. why do you think places like walmart are so popular? It's truly not that simple of a fix.

If instead the governments diverted a fraction of their military spending towards infrastructure rebuilding that would be a much better attempt. There is no shortage of projects for this. Roads, bridges, city redesigning for modern day use? This alone would be a whole generations worth of work.

Paul, our unemployment rate as of this morning is 4.5%. We are at "full employment". Americans aren't losing jobs to other countries.

You think you are one of the "elite".

Post one single thing that backs up your argument and proves that you are as wealthy and successful as you claim.

A picture of a car or property that you own, or a screenshot of a document or bank account. You decide, just dont lie about it.

Because the last time I challenged you nothing appeared, and it wont happen this time either.

Skint old benefit scounging migrant with delusions of grandeur. Pathetic.

The fallacy in this is selling imported manufactured goods creates jobs selling those goods to buyers that can now afford them. It's called a post-industrial age economy. Post-industrial age businesses sell services, technical know how and advanced machinery to developing countries economies.

Quote:
In sociology, the post-industrial society is the stage of society's development when the service sector generates more wealth than the manufacturing sector of the economy. ... The economy undergoes a transition from the production of goods to the provision of services.
Post-industrial society - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-industrial_society
Defense spending is the exception to the rule -- the manufacture of defense procurements, goods and materials, is heavily subsidized for security reasons -- the prices of those goods are inflated for that reason primarily. You cannot apply these restrictions to consumer goods in a capitalist economy.

How many Trump products were made overseas

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.4f6857a0f3a8

An examination of shipping data associated with Ivanka Trump?s clothing and accessory brand reveals another problem that could hurt the business: a significant amount of her brand?s shoes, clothes, and handbags are imported from China and Hong Kong, going against President Donald Trump's 'buy American' policy.

Ivanka Trump's clothing line is made in China and Hong Kong - Business Insider

More than 50 tonnes of Ivanka Trump-branded clothing was imported into the US as her father told the country ?we will... buy American and hire American?, it has emerged.

So why was the American Dream around in the 60s to 80s and now dead for all intense and purposes?

Do agree with the Government spending, but most of that money is spent in the US. Whereas buying foreign the money is spent outside the US. Think about it in where the money is spent.

Poverty isn't on the rise Paul.

You do this shit every time! Say a right wing lie, get proven wrong, pivot to another lie, get proven wrong. But do you ever think "hhhhmm maybe these people showing me the truth are on to something."?

The Russia Today Paul?

You're quoting state owned Russia Today for projection stats about how powerful their buddy China will be?

Have any other sources with the same outlook as RT Paul?

The production of goods, jobs and the basis for all economies follows the slaves and the slave wages market.

When America was born, Euro businesses moved to America to grab up cheap slave labor.

Then when that burned out, the new slaves rose in China.

Now India and the regions around there are the new hot spot for slave workers with slave wages....

AND.... After Chinese workers and Indian workers become too expensive...

The world will once again revolve around Africa as the last resource for slave workers with slave wages.

The circle of global working slaves will be complete.

Let me explain the fallacy of this argument.

It's based on China, India and other advancing countries not taking the services, technical know-how and advanced machinery from the West. what evidence do you have to back that up?

Because I have all the evidence you need that these countries are advancing fast and taking these markets. Did you hear they now do computer programming in India?

What is the current poverty rate in the United States? - UC Davis Center for Poverty Research

Read it and see why I say that. A small decline doesn't mean there isn't an overall rise compared with previous decades. You have to look at the long picture.

Also, read some of these articles showing why people are not slipping further down. It explains why Debt is rising so fast. https://www.google.cz/webhp?hl=en&gw...merica+by+year Forget the blame on Obamacare and look at the figures pre-Obamacare. Are you willing to pay more in taxes to support those who have a job that pays too little to keep a family and to those without a job?

Yes. Have you any that show the opposite? I suggest you show them then.

Here's a start. https://www.google.cz/webhp?hl=en&gw...s,+eu+GDP+2050

At least look for an opposing argument before offering one.

The world is moving to automation.

Back in the days of empires and slavery. The wealth produced flowed into the West, mainly Europe until the rise of America, then with slavery into the hands of Americans as well.

Now wealth is flowing into the hands of Chines, Indians, etc. Outside the West. And in the West into the coffers of a very elite few who don't allow it to trickle down because they now spend the money on foreign products and put it into tax havens.

Imagine you work for a site that has 1,000 members signing up every week. Then someone comes and takes 1% of those members and gives them the same product for less or free. Profit drops because of similar costs to run the business. There is no prospect of the business growing 1% because the competitor keeps taking more of the market than you can create new business.

That has been happening to the West for the last 50 years.

Now add the effect of your boss replacing you with a machine.

So you forgive all those who want to sell jobs to the Third World, so long as they don't say it's wrong.

no I am realistic and recognize the flaws of capitalism and human nature...I do exactly what you did, outsource and automate everything I possibly can, and I spend most of my time thinking about how to cut costs and employ as few people as possible for the least amount of money....only I do not blame others for it, I accept personal responsibility and recognize the negative effect it will have in the long run...nobody is to blame for what I am doing but me...

pick one of the 2 possible scenarios and live with it:

1) cheap goods and low wages in the west

2) expensive goods and no buying power in the west

there is no possible 3rd scenario...

Trump will try, will the West back him and other leaders who are more interested the people than the 1%?

we get it - you divide the world into the white superiors that should stay among themselves and then the rest of the world that has to remain at farming level cause you won't allow them any development
