The strike was on the airbase where the aircraft that dropped the chemical bombs from. For once, Trump & the US deserves a round of applause & is getting it from most of the world

I'm also feeling this way, no proof as far as we know. Too soon to judge anything. Trump just went the way of the establishment in typical establishment manner.

Interesting opinion, you hate this guy in 250 other posts. The only time you actually think he's doing a good job, it's for an attack based on speculations.

No wonder you like Hilary so much.

What is interesting to me is how split our government has become.

When Obama wanted to conduct a similar strike against Syria, all Republicans were against this. Even Trump has stated multiple times that bombing Syria would be a bad idea, and would expand our role in the Syrian conflict.

Now that the show is on the other foot, it's the direct opposite. Republicans did not support this action under Obama are on TV right now fully supporting it.

This is horrible. An action taken by the President is ether right or wrong. Something the President does is "wrong" or bad under a Democratic president and then "right" and good and supported under a Republican president. I am watching the Today show right now and Rubio was just on, trying to explain how different things are now than they were in 2013 and it was pure bullshit. Syria was in a civil war in 2013, and is still in a civil war in 2017. Nothing has changed at all other than having a Republican controlled Congress and a Republican President.

It's just like Obamacare. When it was a Republican idea by Romeny it was great, but now that it's become a Democrat thing it's bad.

The American government has gotten to the point where it no longer servers the American people, but instead only wants to make the other side look bad.

Trump is worse because he didn't even get congress approval before declaring war on Assad yesterday. Rich men love their toys and the military is the most powerful toys Trump has ever had.

But you see the videos below it was a very light warning not meant to really destroy the base but to let Assad know that Trump will not be stopped from bombing him, he has crossed the line with gassing children again & Putin crossed the line lying about Assad destroying all chemical weapons. Notice the Putin media showing lack of destruction bragging Putin is an awful "leader" to antagonize Trump like this.

Obama didn't have the balls to take it all the way, so any attack was pointless... Obama would attack, Putin would then thump his chest and say "we have nukes" and then Obama would retreat with tail between his legs...

exactly, hence why Trump´s fast acting attack was a true act of creating world peace.

His statement "We will not put up with chemical weapons & destruction".

Now, if he can see any of his own division as a mistake, he could turn the world around. Here´s to the possible near coming of world peace

That's one of a few things that I didn't like about Obama.

IMO Trump needs to catch up in Syria, North Korea & South China Sea, in that order.

When China started weaponizing those man-made islands, after promising they wouldn't, we should have immediately bombed the islands but the Republican congress tied his hands behind his back on that one maybe they won't with Trump.

I don´t think it was Obama acting cowardly, he wasn´t scared, he just tolerated more because he had hope for the world. Of course, with ISIS & Syria, it´s continued too long, Trump took the step to say, no more

Although Congressional leaders hailed his decision to seek the permission of lawmakers who had been clamoring for a say, the turnabout leaves Mr. Obama at the political mercy of House Republicans, many of whom have opposed him at every turn and have already suggested that Syria?s civil war does not pose a threat to the United States. His decision raises the possibility that he would be the first president in modern times to lose a vote on the use of force, much as Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain did in Parliament last week.

Slimy shit bags like McConnell should be slowly tortured and murdered for how they handicapped Obama's power, and how he'll handicap Trump in time, with the South China Sea & Syria because McConnell secretly thinks of himself as president... think about that. McConnel had the power to make Obama look bad & take away his supreme court pick. McDonnell needs to go that fucking southern turtle neck turd burgler.

What do you know about me? Nothing, your comment above proves that.

Your problem is you see Americans as all the same because it's easier to hate that way. People who hate are intellectually lazy because it's too difficult to see people as individuals and treat them as such.

Give yourself the gift of insight & compassion for your enemy.

Declared war? What are you on about? Obama was droning Syria constantly, he didn't mess with Assad directly but he was equipping the opposition, training them. He drew a line in the sand and said Chemical weapons would be the limit, Assad did it and Obama did nothing, Putin saw Obama's weakness and made his own moves after that to really strengthen their position.

I didn't read anywhere that Trump declared war. He at least put his money where his mouth was and showed Assad that gassing his people won't be tolerated. But yet you want to bring this back to Hillary and all that nonsense. She lost, Trump is a Cheeto faced celeb that beat the most qualified presidential candidate of all time. If that doesn't show you what a disaster of a campaign she ran then I don't know what else to say.

Putin doesn't give a fuck about Assad, Putin cares about the Russian Military base in Syria. It's their only real way to project influence in the region. This is the reason Russia is helping Assad against ISIS & the Rebels. Otherwise they couldn't give a flying fuck.

Russia doesn't even have a base in Iran, so if Assad falls, they can be pushed out of Syria giving them nowhere in the ME to have a point of influence.

Russia will cave on this.. they will pressure Assad to do nothing. Basically Assad stepped over the line using chemical weapons "again".. Yesterday Russia made excuses trying to shift blame, but Putin said something important "Russian support for Assad was not unconditional"..

Next we have 59 tomahawks coming down on the Syrian airfield the chemical attack was launched from. It just so happens Russian troops also use that airfield. We gave Russia a warning before the attack so they didn't have any casualties which also meant that obviously Assad's forces would receive the warning from Russia..

We targeted mostly soft targets, hitting radars, refueling rigs, a few planes ect.. We didn't destroy the runways or even any hangers from what I saw. This was all a show of force to tell Assad NOT to step over the line again. Basically a very stern warning and finger waving..

Now it's wait and see mode. We wait to see what Assad does next. Will he take the warning or will he run head first into the wall?

Basically, this was very standard response for this kind of situation. It's a simple warning that says we wont accept the use of chemical weapons. This was a warning to both Assad but more importantly to Russia that they need to keep him in check or remove him if they want to keep their military base in Syria.

The interesting thing, is we attacked a military target that Russia shares with Syria's army, gave Russia advance warning and told Russia to stand down.. Just let that sink in.. 59 tomahawks just hit a base with Russian military and they stood down.. Russia will talk tough in the media and have puffy chest, but it's very clear they understand there is not much they can do to stop us in Syria if we choose to do something..

My bet is Russia will move to remove Assad to be able to keep their base.. I'd guess that Russia will be quite Ok with a regime change as long as they feel they have majority influence in Syria & can keep their base. I'm betting Putin wil understand he can't escalate this because he will lose and likely lose their only base in the region. Putin will likely accept a regime change to satisfy the Rebels but still give Russia influence so they can deal with ISIS and be done before it gets out of hand..

Good post!

Hi Sly.

Allow me to clarify. Trump is a fucking idiot. I think he did the right thing in this case by hitting the runways as I said. Most of the world supports his decision too, and like I said, so do I.

But Trump is still a fucking idiot. He's an egomaniac with weapons. He seems to have all kinds of shady deals and "won" the election thanks to endless hacking by the Russians. He has absolutely no political experience, and war is way the fuck over his head. If this situation gets worse, Trump is much more likely to make a wrong decision than a right one in my opinion.

I'm ok to give him 1 point on this action. Let's hope he keeps a very level head moving forward.

No. I will watch and read CNN, MSNBC, CTV, CBC, BBC as they interview other world leaders for their reaction.

Easy, you goddam fucking twat. Assad may have gassed his own people. Removing him may create an opening for terrorists groups. Russia is pissed at Trump for the retaliation. This move by Trump could be a good thing or could create an escalation. It's a very fair guess to say that no one knows for sure if what Trump did was a good thing or not. I am giving your boy T points on this one, but OF COURSE ITS COMPLICATED. Stop being such a fucking keyboard warrior for once and try lending something useful to a discussion for a change.

It's hard to say. Trump tweeted many times about not going into Syria. During his campaigns he told his base that America should stay out and let them fight it out for themselves, adding "America First!" here and there, and got lots of applause for that.

Now of course he broke another promise with the attack yesterday.

My guess is that some redhats will be pissed off, but that most will support him. Watching the video of those children hurt them as much as it hurt everyone else around the world, so most will rally behind him in this case.

sure mark. IMO you will never give trump credit for anything.

something useful? OK here. nobody has mentioned the interesting timing that bannon got dumped the same time the national security council started deliberating a response to the chemical attack. people in this thread quacking false flag have their heads up their asses. assad used these weapons before. did obama use them as a false flag too so he could make himself look weak? dumb.

its clear trump did a 180 on assad in a matter of a minute. Trump is flexible like that. & he also does not like to look like a sissy with chemical weapons in play. he had no choice but to do this after obama dithered. bannon did not belong in the room, so he got dumped.

trump did this for the show...the chinese world leader was at the resort when all this played out. appearance of strength is important to trump. whats next depends on future events, how adversaries react. russia & USA are relating better than the media portrays i believe. china & russia & USA do not want war with each other for sure.

hopefully you can contribute something more insiteful than what the liberal media morons will spin to you.

This narrative that he won is getting so tired. Eli Lake who works for Bloomberg and is a liberal to his core, does occasional segments on Michael Rapaport's podcast.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli_Lake

The podcast is the least mentally taxing podcast in the world IMO. So they have him on when they want to better understand whatever is going on in the world. Recently with all the Flynn stuff, they had him on to explain what all this means. Really good segment and worth listening too - Starts at 1h:01m in

I AM RAPAPORT: STEREO PODCAST - EP 280 - JOY TAYLOR/EMERGENCY SEGMENT WITH ELI LAKE | Listen via Stitcher Radio On Demand

The jist of it is that, Trump can't be a fascist because he is too dumb, that the Establishment vs Trump has been Trump getting his ass kicked. That Flynn isn't or was never with the Russians, he asked for Immunity because he probably needs it from the foreign agents act. When he left his Gov job is that he did consulting (that everyone in Government does this, thats how they make their nut, foreign countries pay you to tell them how people you worked with in washington think, basically give them all the info you know)

Flynn was doing that and taking money from a Turkish business man who was connected to the Turkish Government, and filed it under another act. Ie: he isn't a Turkish Agent because it wasn't directly from the Government... After he resigned he insta filed as an agent with Turkey which seems to be that he was taking money from the guy while national security adviser which is bad. But probably wouldn't go to jail over that. But that there could be something else, but it's clear that he did break that first law.

TLDR: Russian's didn't cause Trump to win, they used bots and fake news to influence but didn't cause it.

This is just another puff of Trump smoke -- Trump has no plan other to get some press attention. I don't expect much from this at this point.

Trump's air strike opens the road for ISIS

ISIL launches offensive near military base targeted by US missiles

Capitalizing on the U.S. missile strikes, the Islamic State stormed the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) checkpoints near the strategic town of Al-Furqalas.

According to local sources, the Islamic State has yet to make any gains near Al-Fuqalas, but without necessary air support, the situation could worsen in the coming hours.
if it is creditable

Russia bans image of Vladimir Putin in makeup

Picture said to imply ?the supposed nonstandard sexual orientation? of Putin.

A picture portraying Russian President Vladimir Putin in full makeup has been banned and listed as ?extremist material? by the Russian Justice Ministry, the Guardian reported Thursday.

The Pentagon alerted Russian military counterparts to minimize the risk of conflict. A spokesman said the strike appeared to have ?severely damaged or destroyed Syrian aircraft?. Russian authorities disputed the claim, saying many missiles missed their targets. By Friday afternoon the base was already launching flights again, according to AFP.
