These protest were the first ones that involved lots of students and people under 18. The arrested ones are mostly 16-25 years old. So most of protestors have grown up when Putin was a president of Russia. They can't remember 90's, because they were not even born...

P.S. As about Navalny. He has got his usual 15 days in prison for "resisting to police" (nobody is surprised here). As usually he will win the case in the European court and he will receive a compensation from the Russian government. So Putin has two weeks to dry up his pants and decide what he has to do this time to proof he is not an asswipe. I wish him good luck!

The only thing Russia is blamed for there is that Russia has "invaded its neighbor in response to the attack". The Israelis would occupy their territory for that. The Americans would hung up their president. And Russians just came into the country and destroyed/captured their military arsenals, ships, tanks etc to give them a lesson. Everything (a whole war) took 5 days only and then Russian soldiers were pulled back. A big deal, right?

P.S. It was not some kind of a full-scale war. Only a part of North Caucasian military regiment was involved: 19,000 Russian troops vs 17,000 Georgian ones.
