Is Email Marketing Dead?
I have a client who wants us to build a some custom scripts which will email them to send out emails from emails they have collected from the 90s using opt in methods. Most are prob junk or don't work but they want to make sure they are able to go through using a third party system. We are looking at some providers now on "cleared ip lists, etc." Do you think email marketing still converts to members? Email marketing isn't dead at all as long as you're lists are targeted and not spamming. It's not like it used to be, there are very detailed ways to setup your email server so messages will go through including MMX records, wrappers, IP address with good neighborhood & history... And that's just your server.
If you are expecting to pump a bunch of stuff out from a server to clean a list you're 95% likely to fail not knowing that after the first few hundred emails you're already on internal spam lists from that server/IP for most of the major mail services. |

I try not too because it pisses off the real postal service.

Not as profitable as it was. There are too many great filters dumping 99% into people's spam boxes. And ways to eliminate it all together.

if the email list is from the 90-s it will be an epic fail...most email addresses from that period have changed and the moment you start getting hard bounces over a certain % you can call the whole thing off no matter how much setup you put in to it....
