China has prepared a preemptive strike against US bases to cripple US forces

And the plot thickens...

Pearl Harbor 2? China 'has prepared for a preemptive strike against US military bases which would cripple American forces in the region'

The levels at which China appears to be planning a missile attack on US military bases in the Pacific have been detailed in a new report.

An investigation of satellite imagery comparing China's missile testing grounds and US military bases shows a pattern - all of the missile tests have been aimed at destroying US carriers, destroyers and airfields in East Asia, the report said.

The images show that the test areas have been designed to look like the military bases, according to the report by Thomas Shugart on War on the Rocks.

Earlier this week, a highly accurate Chinese ballistic missile capable of threatening US and Japan bases in Asia made its latest appearance at recent Rocket Force drills.

Tillerson in was adamant about us not allowing Chinese access to all those illegal sand island bases they built while LYING to us about not militarizing them.

in bladewire land, the US can lecture the chinese, in their own backyard, about what islands they can & cannot inhabit. they are "illegal" & they somehow are required to "tell us" the imperial USA.

does bladewire realize he sounds like a dumb neo-con? next bladewire will want to invade china over a bunch of dumb islands.

Keep in mind that modern day China (1949) hasn't really attacked anyone....

Seems to me like they are trying to dominate that area of the ocean, mostly for economic reasons.

Why would this preparation surprise anyone? I'm sure all the nuclear powers have prepped for different scenario, China goes to war with the US, Russia intervenes on this side or on that side - Russia doesn't intervene.

The you have the French and UK independent "deterrents" to think about. Wouldn't it be important to have your generals prepare in advance for all these different scenarios?

News flash. The U.S. military has reams of plans on the shelf about preemptive strikes on every country on this earth including our "current allies" as well as reams of defensive plans of various scenarios. This also includes the preemptive use of both tactical and strategic use of nukes of various yield and types as well as defensive use of the same. The major military powers would be remiss not to have the same plans on the shelf. Nothing new to see here.

I'm sure they have had these plans for a while and have many others.

China is not stupid. They know they would have no chance of defeating us in a conventional war. They have enough nukes to destroy us, but that would mean their destruction as well. They might get froggy with us when it comes to economic issues, but I really don't think they are dumb enough to start a shooting war.

Old, sick, overweight world leaders should do their own fighting and leave the rest of us alone.

But as long as we have testosterone filled ignorant young men, being lured into the military, war and fighting will never end.

Humans are indeed a sorry bunch of losers. We are the only animals with opposable thumbs, able to create such greatness and yet all we can do is fight over our toys.

you should realize that modern wars are not between nations directly. they are indirectly by using other nations to go into war against each other.
then the weapon industries of the rival states are selling weapons to their marionettes and bring them in deep dept and after the war they take the depts back in goods.

the winner of the war is also the one who will be able to export his "winning arms" into the next conflict region of the world.

this is a devils game invented by USA (but played from a lot of western countries) and now perfected by donald and the gang.

Air carriers and destroyers are easy targets these days. They are dinosaurs of XX century. They are big, slow and extremely expensive, but can be easily destroyed with a single ass-cheap cruise missile, which is affordable even to 3rd-world countries

P.S. Should I remind you the role of China in the Korean war (1950)? What happened to the regiment of the 7th Infantry Division of the United States? Which army has forced 8th US Army and 10 Corps to retreat from Seoul in 1951? Learn history, man.

Get a grip.

Mr Bannon has declared that war with China in inevitable in the next 5 - 10 years.

Emperor Trump has been bashing China whilst promising to increase the US military.

If you were a Chinese General, and it was your job to defend your homeland, where do you think you would point your pea shooters ?

there have been a bunch more wars between china, russia and the US in the past centuries.

korea, vietnam, cambodia and afganistan are just the obvious and well know ones. but since 1945 US was active (either direct or indirect) in around 100 wars and armed conflicts around the world.

Have you ever looked at global military spending and the value of the output?

I was surprised Russia was so passive in response but they really need Turkey so allowed their bomber shot down with no retribution.
