I bought bitcoins between $360 and $550 and sold 1/2 of them over $800. Still hold 260.

What was the record high?

I seem to remember is was about £800 (GBP) or $1200 but the GBP/USD exchange rate seems to have changed a fair bit since then.
Do you know what the record high was in GBP or USD on bitcoinity?

$1200 was essentially the record high.

After Trump is inaugurated it will crash back down...

Poor judgements and weak minds is what leads to "jumping off buildings"

Investing real estate, currency, commodities, education, etc all have risk, and should be done with decent/good judgement

This is called an adjustment and was a huge profit making opportunity. I sold the majority of my BTC last night and will be going back in sometime today. Not any different from trading stock. There is risk in everything. No guts no glory.

Just remember that the exchange order you're creating or filling is matched by someone else who's betting the exact opposite.

Martin Armstrong has an interesting piece on bitcoin today, he thinks the high value is because of the rich Chinese using it to move money out of the country.

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/w...oin-what-next/

Maybe that is why it fell a bit btw, it seems like half the world reads his blog. I don't have any bitcoins and never had, just reading his blog also.

Amazing to see how many bitcoin haters there are, and how much time they waste on posting in threads like these. Joshua G, you are currently the highest poster in this thread with 6 posts

Quote:
1.8.Insurance

Deribit has an insurance fund that should cover all losses of bankrupt traders. Due to our advanced real time incremental liquidation system, it will be actually a challenge to go bankrupt even if a trader would wish to do so. On the insurance page we will publish in real time any occurring bankruptcies and the last state of the insurance fund. As long as there is BTC in the insurance funds, withdrawals of funds (including (unrealised) profits of not expired assets) are available for immediate withdrawal. If the insurance fund gets depleted, any then occurring bankruptcies will be socialised among the winning traders, though our goal is to never get to that point, and margin requirements will be made more strict as soon as bankruptcies appear. The Insurance fund will start with 100BTC. Deribit will never take out funds of the insurance fund for anything else than covering bankruptcies. Currently there are is a starting capital of 100BTC in the insurance fund and no bankruptcies have occurred so far.
Unregulated trading on margin -- 20X leverage options -- they claim they haven't gone bust yet.

I'm buying BTC at every price point. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested to get into BTC. I anticipated the downturn and continue to profit on it. Just substitute stock for Bitcoin, maybe you will see what I mean. Sorry, Joshua the asshole, I'm up quite a bit more than the number you are tossing around.
