I've seen non-webmasters ask the same question.

They think it's stupid that porn sites have Facebook like buttons on them. Personally I don't use Facebook, so maybe there's something I'm missing.

i use to use reddit a lot but they kept banning my accounts so i gave up

same with flickr and vimeo, they ban accounts so easy it's not worth it
