Should You Pay If You Do Something Stupid?..
I have seen loads of these shows where they rescue people from crazy places - Half way up/down cliffs, crazy rivers etc...
If you end up there because you fucked up should you pay?.... Maybe a 1 to 10 level - 1 to 5 you are OK - 5+ you pay... So, if you decided to cross the Atlantic in a bath you pay - If you got caught in a flash flood while camping with the kids you didn't..... What happens in the US?.. |

I think they do in some cases. I have a friend that wasn't paying attention and accidentally drove off the road. He hit a tree then his car caught fire. He was fine, but he burned down two trees before the fire department got there. The state billed him for the trees and the services of the fire department.

In Las Vegas if you stupidly drive into a flood zone when we have our flash floods and have to get rescued by helicopter from the roof of your car, you're getting the bill for it.

I say just leave them on the cliff...they got up there so let them get out of the situation they got themselves into!
The only exception could be children and old people...anyone else just needs to take responsibility themselves. |

Taxpayers eventually pay for most,we have many search and rescue attempts in the mountains that cost thousands for each individual.they should be charged for going out of bounds
