In the early 80's he was district attorney, which makes all of this creepy, but at that time there was also no internet and very little as far as news media so all of this was local. Also, it is coming out that in some cases these girls did tell people and nobody did anything about it.

Now the guy is poised to be a US Senator. Call me crazy, but I think knowing if he tried to fuck underage girls when he was in his 30's is something we should know about someone who is about to come into some serious power.
