If instead the governments diverted a fraction of their military spending towards infrastructure rebuilding that would be a much better attempt. There is no shortage of projects for this. Roads, bridges, city redesigning for modern day use? This alone would be a whole generations worth of work.

Do agree with the Government spending, but most of that money is spent in the US. Whereas buying foreign the money is spent outside the US. Think about it in where the money is spent.
