I sold one account during the burning crusade and another account during wrath, which had 3 80's and some gold all on ebay. It's difficult, I had the latest auction taken down twice, but if you word it properly you can make it all the way through, and at the very least, drive hits to where you want to sell it until it gets taken down.
I forget the tool, but you can show your armory profile of your toons without actually linking to your armory page. That helped in the final auction. *clicked your link, you're using that tool, never mind

I took a tank to 85 and said fuck it, I'm just not into this game anymore. I didn't even sell that account, it's just cancelled and dead. Then I went to Rift, but got bored there. Now, waiting for GW2 I guess.
